Pushing WestwardThe Lewis and Clark Expedition is one of the most famous journeys in American history. Travelling hundreds of miles along the great plains and through the Rocky mountains, the group was successful in exploring the previously barren western United States. Along that journey was a very important Shoshone Indian, Sacagawea, who proved to be invaluable in helping the crew to be successful in their explorations. Learn about how Sacagawea's presence and contributions helped pave the way to unlocking the western United States.
